Ralph Lynn Iholts was born in Miles City, Mont., on Aug. 14, 1938, to Louise (Bitle) and Ralph Scott Iholts. Lynn spent his younger years in Montana and later moved to Canyonville, Ore., where he graduated from high school.
Lynn married Della Rust in 1956; they were married for 25 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling back to Montana and reconnecting with friends and family back on the farm.
Lynn made his career as an electrician and owned Vale Electric in Vale, Ore., from 1984 until 1998. He was a 51-year member of the I.B.E.W and also a member of the Elks and Moose Lodges.
Lynn led a very active life and loved hunting and taking trips to Alaska, where he fished for halibut. He also liked riding horses and four-wheelers.
Spending summers in Granite, Ore., and winters in Yuma, Ariz., became an agreeable lifestyle for Lynn, and the warm weather gave him another hobby in which to keep busy - golf.
On Oct. 29, 2011, Lynn passed away at his home in Hood River at the age of 73. He will be missed by his children: sons Steven Iholts, of Boise, Idaho, Glenn Iholts and David Iholts, both of Hood River, and daughter Nancy Taylor, of Gearhart, Ore.; sister Jean Scheer of McMinnville, Ore.; grandchildren Sandra, Stephanie, Jessica, Ethan and Sam; and great-grandchildren Shayla and Olivia.
The family will hold services for Lynn at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Gardner Funeral Home, 1270 N. Main, White Salmon, Wash.; 509-493-1323.
