Wanda Joyce Busetti passed away Oct. 20, 2011, less than an hour from her 78th birthday. She was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Brizeta, N.M., to Jake Bruce and Alameda June (McDonald) Simms.
She married Charlie Vincent Busetti and they had three children: Debbie, Rod and Robin. The family moved to Cascade Locks, Ore., in 1963 where Wanda lived until July 2005 when she moved to Hood River.
Wanda had many hobbies and activities that she enjoyed but none more than being with family. She was an avid artist; her pencil sketches, oil paintings and crocheted keepsakes will be forever cherished by her family.
Wanda enjoyed traveling, be it stateside or overseas. She was a whiz at crossword puzzles and that vocabulary probably assisted with her many letters of concern to elected officials and politicians.
In addition to her arts, crafts, crosswords and genealogy she enjoyed watching "Dancing with the Stars."
Wanda is survived and will be dearly missed by her children, Deborah J. Kaul, of Shelton, Wash., Rodney D. Busetti, of Hill City, S.D., and Robin M. Collins, of White Salmon, Wash.; six grandchildren: Michael, Jamil, Justin, Jason, Christopher and Madison; five great-grandchildren: Mercedes, Cruz, Alexis, Cameron and Kyah; brothers Donald and Gene; and sister Margaret.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charlie, and brothers Carl and Jim.
A memorial service is planned for 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Anderson's Tribute Center. Family friend and pastor, Todd Mohr, will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals, Receptions, Cremations), 1401 Belmont Ave., Hood River, OR 97031; 541-386-1000. Please visit www.andersonstributecenter.com to leave a note of condolence for family.
