Hayden (Joe) LeRoy Hamilton, son of Moffitt Hamilton and Ketura Holloway, was born June 27, 1960, in Baker City, Ore. He died Sept. 8, 2011, at the age of 51 in Hazelton, Idaho.
Joe is survived by his children, Rocky Dexter Hamilton, Crystal Dexter, Trinity Hamilton, Adam Hamilton, Felicia Terry and Helen Hamilton; his mother, Ketura Flanigan; his brothers, Wane Reffett and Danny Hamilton; sisters Mary Hunter, Suzanne Thomas and Patty Flanigan; and grandkids Austin Dexter, Tyler Walchli, Cayden Gianino, Jerimaiah Batcheldor, Jozlynn Gianino, Jasmine Batcheldor, Troy Terry and Kloe Dexter Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Hamilton, his father, Moffitt Hamilton, his brothers, Roy Vogtsberger, Bill Reffett and Moffitt Hamilton Jr., and niece, Julinne Hamilton.
Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and anything to do with the great outdoors. He loved working with his hands, fixing and building things. There was nothing he could not fix. He may have come out with a few extra parts, but it worked.
Dad had many different occupations: He operated heavy equipment, did carpentry, mechanics and forestry. I guess you could say he was a man of all trades.
He was a wonderful son, husband, father, brother and friend. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, neighbors, or even a complete stranger. He had a big heart.
Joe always talked highly of his grandmother Hamilton and her love for God. Because of her he was able to find the Lord and accept Him into his heart.
Memorial contributions for family may be sent to P.O. Box 566, Bingen, WA 98605.
