Diana Janeane Hammel-Bardshar passed from this earth quite suddenly on Dec. 9, 2011, at the age of 60. Diana was born in Hood River, Ore., on Aug. 11, 1951, to John H. Hammel Sr. and E. June (Kesling) Hammel.
She lived in many places throughout her short life but called Carey, Idaho, her home. Diana had many talents and really took her photography to heart.
Her joy was to take photos of Mount Hood from many angles. She loved remodeling homes and had learned to use her "toys," woodworking tools. She always had a smile for children and the elderly.
Diana will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Survivors include her son, Logan, of Burns, Ore.; sister, M. Jane Hammel McLean, of Mt. Hood-Parkdale, Ore.; brother, John H. Hammel Jr., of Medical Lake, Wash.; also, many friends; from Hutchinson, Kansas, to Hood River, Ore., and all points in between.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, two sisters, one brother and a daughter.
Memorial services will be held in Kimberly, Idaho, and Mt. Hood-Parkdale, Ore., in the spring of 2012.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals, Receptions, Cremations), 1401 Belmont Ave., Hood River, OR 97031; 541-386-1000. Please visit www.andersonstributecenter.com to leave a note of condolence for family.
