Eric Edward Annala passed away May 14, 2012, in Hood River, Ore., at the age of 53. He was born to Wayne C. Annala and Loretta J. Annala in Portland, Ore., on Aug. 19, 1958.
He is survived by his sons Ryan W. Annala, of Grants Pass, Ore., and Shawn Annala, of Bend, Ore.; and his daughter, Erica Nichols, also of Bend. He is also survived by his father, Wayne C. Annala, of Hood River, Ore., and sisters Susan Annala-Mullenax, of Tyler, Texas, and Robyn Sleeper, of Waldport, Ore.
His mother, Loretta, and brother, Davin, preceded him in death in 2011.
Shortly after his graduation from Hood River Valley High School, he lived in Tokyo for three years, during which time he instructed Sony employees in conversational English. After returning from Tokyo, he engaged in commercial diving and aquarium diving display in Newport, Ore.
Later he was engaged in further employment in retail sales of furniture and also truck canopies and accessories in the Medford and Portland areas. More recently, for a substantial period of time, he was employed in concrete construction in Bend. Prior to his death, he returned to Hood River.
Private family services are planned and will be held at a later date.
