Dolores M. Haire, 84, of White Salmon, Wash., passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at the Hood River Care Center in Hood River, Ore. Dolores was born June 12, 1928, in Medina, N.D., to John and Bertha (Wahl) Miller. She graduated from high school in Mullan, Idaho, where she played the snare drum in the band, was an avid swimmer, played tennis and shared her beautiful soprano singing voice.
She married Gerald C. Haire in Spokane, Wash., on Sept. 12, 1947. They raised their two daughters, Shannon Marie and Miriam Louise, in San Jose, Calif., where the family lived for more than 40 years. Dolores worked most of her life as a bookkeeper, staying active in her girls’ lives, swimming, enjoying music and reading.
Dee and Jerry retired in 1989 and moved to Bend, Ore. With the passing of her husband in 1993 she moved to White Salmon to be near family, where she was actively involved in the Ladies of the Elks Lodge.
Dee is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon M. Buscho and Larry of Applegate, Ore., and Miriam L. Thompson and Jerry of Chapman, Neb.; two grandsons, Justin Buscho and his wife, Jessica, and Jarrod Thompson and his wife, Kelly Kruger; and five great-grandchildren: Gianna Buscho, Connor Buscho, Brennan Buscho, Jadyn Thompson and Cole Thompson.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Toni Verley and Jacqueline Dickinson.
