Marion Finney, 95, passed away Nov. 17, 2012. She was born in White Salmon, Wash., to Howard L. and E. Viola Shoemaker, Dec. 16, 1916. She graduated from Hood River High School and moved to The Dalles, Ore., with her husband to open a sporting goods store. In 1958, she moved to Seattle, Wash., then to Portland, Ore., where she worked for U.S. Bank until her retirement in 1979. Her last eight years were spent at Providence Down Manor in Hood River.
She is survived by her children, Dave Finney and Carol J. Brown; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Her youngest son, Doug, predeceased her in 1992.
Gram will be remembered for being a loving mother and grandmother, for her love of music and her beautiful singing voice, for her love of travel, for wanting to participate in all family events and for playing bridge with her longtime friends.
A private family memorial service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hood River on Nov. 24.
