Jaycob Nathaniel Sprague passed away Oct. 17, 2012, in Pendleton, Ore. Jaycob was born Dec. 3, 1996, the youngest of four to Jayson and Julie (McCarty) Sprague. He was raised in Hood River, Ore., attended Westside Elementary and Hood River Middle School until 2011, when he continued his education at Pendleton High School.
Jaycob had many hobbies, including fishing with his dad and grandpa, shed horn hunting with his dad, hanging out with friends, horseback riding, motorcycles, football, turning wrenches, snowboarding, four-wheeling, drawing and shopping for shoes, but his greatest passion was skateboarding. He took many trips to the emergency room to mend broken limbs from his trials. He was fearless.
Jaycob matured into a very compassionate and respectful young man with plans for his future and love for his family and the Lord. Numerous occasions he mentioned wanting to become a minister to young people who were going through what he went through. Jaycob was a joy to be with.
His grandparents Marvin and Priscilla Sprague preceded him in death. He is survived by his parents, Jayson and Julie; his siblings Cody, Cory and Amanda; his grandparents John and Lou McCarty, all of Hood River, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, all who loved him.
Services are planned for 11 a.m. Oct. 27 at River of Life Church, 979 Tucker Road, Hood River, with a reception to follow at the church and graveside after the reception.
Memorials in Jaycob’s memory are suggested to Hood River Family Life Skills at 540 Riverside Drive, Hood River, OR 97031.
