Elda Rose Crane passed away March 17, 2013. She was born Sept. 22, 1920, in Reliance, S.D., and was the oldest of three girls. She lived in Chamberlain, S.D., Corvallis, Ore., Dayton, Ore., Hood River, Ore., and Vancouver, Wash.
In February 1944 she married James (Jim) Crane. They had two daughters, Barbara and Sharon. The family moved to Hood River in 1955, where Jim worked for the USDA. Elda worked for the Extension Service, Hood River School District and Dr. Thompson.
She enjoyed her family, camping at Lost Lake, traveling, gardening, knitting and sewing. The family belonged to the Hood River Valley Christian Church.
Elda and Jim moved to Vancouver, Wash., in 1972, where she was employed by the Vancouver School District and was a member of the First Church of God.
Elda was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara, and her sister Bettymae Hunter.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, daughter Sharon, sister Onalee, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
