Mae O’Neil Osborne passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the Hood River Care Center in Hood River, Ore. She was born on March 19, 1916, in Shouns, Tenn., the daughter of Naomi and Samuel Roark.
Mae lived in many places throughout her life including Shouns, Tenn., Ashland, W.V., Wilmington, Del., and finally making her home in Parkdale, Ore.
She married Firman Osborne on July 15, 1934, in Shouns, Tenn. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2002.
Mae worked as a stay-at-home most of her life. She worked briefly in the fruit-packing industry. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and making beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed fishing and food canning.
Mae was a member of the Christian Church, Nazarene Church, Baptist Church and the Assembly of God Church.
Surviving and left to honor her life are brother Ray Quincy Roark, of Parkdale, Ore.; sister Faye Roark Dye, of Hood River, Ore.; daughters Lois Osborne, of La Grande, Ore., and Phyllis Osborne, of Dayton, Wash.; and son Roger Osborne, of Parkdale, Ore.
She is also survived by her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Howard and Noah Wayne Roark; and sisters Blanche and Dae Roark.
Graveside services were held on Friday, Feb. 15, at Upper Valley (Parkdale) Cemetery where she was laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Firman Osborne.
