Glen William Allen, 90, passed away Feb. 19, 2013, in The Dalles, Ore. He was born in Hood River, Ore., on Aug. 23, 1922, to Mary Ethal Sheppard Allen and Lecil Edward Allen.
Glen worked as orchardist and as a school bus driver for Hood River County. He was an Oregon State fruit inspector.
He and Joyce enjoyed making their winter home in Arizona during the past 25 years; the last 15 years in Yuma, Ariz.
Glen was a lifetime member of Kemp Odd Fellows Lodge #181 of Odell. He will be greatly missed by his loving and family and friends who have come to know him.
Surviving and left to honor his life are his wife of 71 years, Joyce M. Allen, of The Dalles; brother, Edward S. Allen; sister, Marylee A. Bork; children Glenda Allen Wright, Michael Lee Allen, Florence Allen Muma, Elizabeth Allen VanSickle and Tina Marie Allen; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Heart of Hospice or charity of one’s choice in care of Anderson’s Tribute Center.
Private family services were held, with entombment at Idlewilde Mausoleum in Hood River.
