Guadalupe “Lupe” Garcia, 44, passed away July 15, 2013, in Hood River, Ore. He was born July 11, 1969, in Tlacuitapa, Jalisco, Mexico, to Augustin and Teresa Garcia.
A viewing and funeral Mass were held Thursday at Anderson’s Tribute Center and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
A praying of the rosary was held Friday at Anderson’s, followed by a graveside service at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Lupe was born in Mexico but lived most of his life in the Hood River area. He attended Pine Grove Elementary, Wy’east Middle School and Hood River Valley High School. He loved to listen to ‘80s music; he enjoyed his daily walks to Windmaster for his smokes and coffee.
He is survived by his father, Augustin Garcia, of Hood River; brothers Juan Garcia, of Leon, Guanajato, Mexico, and Israel Garcia, of Hood River; sister Linda Garcia, of Hood River; his beloved niece, Katrina Garcia-Chubb, of Goldendale, Wash.; and numerous other family and many friends that will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Teresa.
