Donald M. O’Leary, of Seattle, Wash., passed away July 15, 2013, in Seattle. He was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Dee, Ore., to Joseph and Anne O’Leary. He attended Dee Grade School, Hood River High School, and the University of Notre Dame, and graduated from the University of Washington.
In 1948, he married Colleen Lemley, Hood River. They made Seattle their home, where Don enjoyed a successful career in business until his retirement. Their son, Michael, was born in 1949 and died in April of 2013.
Don will be remembered for his passion for sports, especially football, as he led Hood River High School to the Oregon State Football Championship in 1945 and attended college on football scholarships. He was also an avid skier, a sport he shared with his son.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen O’Leary, granddaughter Micaela O’Leary, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his son, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jerry.
At his request, there will be no services.
