Mary L. (Creson) Bowerman, 89, of Longview, Wash., passed away peacefully Feb. 20, 2013, at the Hospice Care Center with her loving family in attendance.
Mary was born in Hood River, Ore., to Sadie and Elmer Creson. She grew up and went to school in Odell, Ore., where she met and married her husband, George I. Bowerman. They were married in 1941 and celebrated 71 years of marriage. They moved all over the Northwest in their life together and settled in Longview in 1964.
Mary’s passion in life was to be a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a fantastic cook and took time to pass this along to her children and grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes were to sew and garden in her beautiful yard where her family loved to spend time with her. She really enjoyed all the animals and birds that came to visit.
She loved to travel, and she and George visited Canada and Mexico, and all fifty states in their many trips in their motor home. The beach was a favorite place to go with the children and grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Eleanor and Barbara.
She is survived by her loving husband, George, in Longview; son Randy Bowerman, of Kennewick, Wash.; and daughter Christine Webber, of Vancouver, Wash. She has six grandchildren: Dave, Liz, Jeff, Jessica, Brian and Kim, and eight great-grandchildren with another on the way.
There is no memorial service or ceremony planned. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Community Home Health and Hospice, 1035 11th Ave., P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.
