Earl D. Ackley passed away Oct. 28, 2013, in Amarillo, Texas. He was born May 27, 1937, in White Salmon, Wash., to Claude and Ida Ackley.
Earl was an active member of the Eagles in Hood River, Ore. He retired from Broughton Lumber in White Salmon.
He loved fishing, baseball and watching sports on television.
He played pool at the Eagles and bowled on local leagues.
He married Irene Carl on Jan. 2, 1968.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Ackley, of Tucumcari, N.M.; daughters Angela Morgan and Pam Ackley, both of Kingston, Wash.; son John Ackley, of The Dalles, Ore.; stepson Cross (Connie) Carl, of Tucumcari, N.M.; grandchildren Lynn Opdycke, Charles Carl, Michael Carl, Cross Carl, Kristine Brown, Aaron Brown, Robert Ackley, Brian Ackley and Josh Ackley; and numerous great-grandchildren.
