Bonnie Lynne Dorsey was born on June 24, 1935, in Taft, Calif. She went to Heaven Nov. 9, 2013, surrounded by her family.
She was the second child of four born to Clyde and Barbara Walker: Beverly Jean, Bonnie Lynne, John Michael and Freida Kay.
In 1947 the family headed north to Hood River, Ore., where Bonnie grew up and went to school. She graduated in 1953 from Wy’east High School.
Bonnie met Dean K. Dorsey and was married Feb. 26, 1954. Soon came three children: Mona, on Sept. 15, 1954, Denise, on Sept. 11, 1955, and John, on March 10, 1957.
Bonnie worked at a couple of packing houses, the Hood River Distillery and then Allen-Hay Motor Co., where she worked for 10-15 years. Dean and Bonnie bought an orchard and worked in it until her health forced her to leave the hard work.
As the family grew, Bonnie loved being a grandmother. She was the best grammaw, grams, granny the grandkids said you could ask for. The first to come along were Blake Dorsey, Adrienne Armstrong and Samantha Dorsey. Then came the second crew: Laney, June and Buster. Bonnie loved her family and will be missed deeply.
He was preceded in death by her daughter Mona Whitaker in 2000, and husband, Dean, in 2002.
At Bonnie’s request a private family interment will be held.
The family suggests that remembrances may be made to a fire department or charity of your choice.
