Jerry Eugene Prine, 59, passed away April 1, 2014, in Hood River, Ore. Jerry was born Nov. 13, 1954, in White Salmon, Wash., to Newt and Mary J. (Setchfield) Prine.
He was raised and educated in the Hood River Valley, and graduated with the class of 1973 from Hood River Valley High School. During his high school years Jerry enjoyed working on cars and riding motorcycles. After graduating Jerry joined the Army for four years as a sergeant.
Jerry first met his wife Kathleen (Stillman) on Aug. 16, 1980, and they became the best of friends. On July 18, 1981, he married his best friend in Hood River. He was a loving husband, father and friend to many.
He worked for ODOT for 23 years and was a career volunteer for the West Side Fire Department for the last 30 years. He especially enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
He will forever be missed.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathleen Prine, mother, Mary Prine, and sister, Helen Davis, all residents of Hood River; his two sons, Steven and Michael Prine, and four beautiful grandchildren: Sophia, Wyatt, Ava and Gunnar Prine; nephews Devin and Zachary Davis and several other family members residing in the Hood River area.
A private family gathering was held at Anderson’s Tribute Center.
