Wilma F. Plog

Wilma F. Plog, 83, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, surrounded by those she loved at the Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, Ore. Wilma was born on April 20, 1930, in Winner, S.D., to Roy and Margaret (Ebel) Patton.
On June 13, 1954, Wilma married Frederick “Fred” Plog at the Valley Christian Church. Wilma lived her entire married life as an orchardist on the Plog Family Farm in Odell, Ore., and as a homemaker.
Wilma was an active member of the Odell Methodist Church, and her hobbies included sewing, baking, gardening, quilting, traveling, games and puzzles, and spending time with her family. She was especially interested in canning and flower arranging.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred; her son Rod and her brother Paul Patton.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy (Kerry) Williams, of Hood River; grandchildren Jesse Plog, of Hood River, Mindy (Tommy) Greco, of Rock Hill, S.C., and Katy Taylor, of Hood River. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren Aiden and Chaz Greco, of Rock Hill, S.C., and her sister Donna (Harold) Wilson, of Oregon City, Ore.; sister-in-law Margaret Patton, of The Dalles, Ore., and brothers Virgil (Thelma) Patton, of The Dalles, and Norman (Sandy) Patton, of Hood River.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. at Anderson’s Tribute Center 1401 Belmont Ave., Hood River, with Pastor Christy Matson of the Pine Grove-Odell United Methodist Church. Entombment will precede the service at Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River, with a reception to follow at the Odell United Methodist Church in Odell, Ore.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Wilma’s name to the Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital and may be sent in care of Anderson’s Tribute Center.
