Carl Curtis Wilson, 80, an Oregon native and Navy veteran, died June 5, 2014, leaving his loving wife of nearly 60 years.
A small private memorial service for immediate family and invited guest is being held Friday at Anderson’s Tribute Center and a public Celebration of Life on June 14 at 1:30 p.m.; a service will be held at the same location.
Carl was born Nov. 20, 1934, in Seattle, Wash., to of Robert H. and Grace I. Hutchinson.
On Jan. 16, 1952, he joined the Navy. While serving on the USS Marshall, DD-676, during the Korean conflict, he was awarded the Defense Service Medal, the China Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal.
On Aug. 30, 1954, he married Sharon K. Hathhorn of Hood River.
Carl’s generosity and kindness of heart were always an inspiration to his family and friends, and he lived his life with integrity and honor.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons Robert R. and Jeffrey C.; daughters Tina K. and Lisa A.; and their spouses; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be forever remembered.
