Norma Jean Jones, 79, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital. Norma was born March 23, 1935, in Hochatown, Okla., to Joe and Lou (Baker) Jewell.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at the Truth Tabernacle Church, 1331 Tucker Road, Hood River.
Norma grew up in Oklahoma and graduated high school from Wright City, Okla. She married Floyd Jones in Sweet Home, Ore., on Aug. 29, 1953. Norma also lived in Lakeview, Ore., Milwaukie, Ore., and Mosier, Ore.
Norma was a loving housewife and active mother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, arts, crafts, canning and most importantly, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Truth Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church of Hood River.
Norma is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband, Floyd, of Mosier; two daughters, Sharon (and her husband, Al) Albrich and Susan Jones, both of Milwaukie; two sons: Rick Jones, of Mosier, and Steve (and his wife, Danette) Jewell, of Gresham; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of friends that she has collected over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Pete and granddaughter Jennifer Albrich.
Remembrances are encouraged to be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Portland, Ore.
