Albert Lee Schiebel, 57, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in the arms of his wife at his home in Hood River, Ore., which is exactly the way he wanted to start his next journey. Al was born Feb. 13, 1957, in Flint, Mich., to Frank and Harriet (Blake) Schiebel.
He grew up in Sparta, Wis., and Saint Louis, Mo., graduating from Sparta High School in 1974. He continued his education, earning a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering technology at Milwaukee School of Engineering. Al was a senior electrical engineer at Insitu for seven years.
On Jan. 31, 2014, he married Shari Quary, sharing their home together in Hood River.
Al was soft-spoken until he grabbed a microphone. He had a beautiful voice! He enjoyed singing classical rock, and playing the bass guitar, and he loved to listen to vinyl. He had a brilliant mind that was always ON, and music was one of the few distractions from which his mind would take a break!
Al is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Shari, of Hood River; stepdaughter Jasmine, of Hood River; brothers Frank and Keith Schiebel and sister Alice Riggleman. He also leaves behind his three adopted cats, Oscar, Screech, and Baby Shit. He is irreplaceable and will be missed more than words can describe.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for April 2014. Details will be available soon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson’s Tribute Center (Funerals, Receptions, Cremations), 1401 Belmont Ave., Hood River, OR 97031; 541-386-1000. Please visit andersonstributecenter.com to leave a note of condolence for family.
