Ronald Carl Krieg, 73, of Hood River, Ore., passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at the Cascade Senior Care Center in The Dalles, Ore. Ronald was born Nov. 6, 1940, in Hood River to Carl and Eunice (Morland) Krieg.
Ronald attended Frankton Grade School and graduated from Hood River High School. He served his country in the United States Navy and then attended the University of Oregon, and graduated from Oregon State with further studies at the University of California Berkeley.
On Aug. 2, 1989, Ron married Carolyn Ann Diskin in Portland, Ore.
Ron resided in Hood River for most of his life, and was president of Krieg Millwork. In his free time he enjoyed reading, and was very interested in other cultures, even learning how to speak Chinese.
Ron is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of Hood River; stepson, Andrew Bene; aunt, Marlys Morland, of Newberg, Ore.; nephew, Mitch Lawson, of Perrysburg, Ohio; and grandchildren Kailie French and Tatum French.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Eunice Krieg, and sister, Betty Carolyn Lawson.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital Foundation in care of Anderson’s Tribute Center.
A time for friends to pay their respect and view is scheduled for Monday, March 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Anderson’s Tribute Center. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Idlewilde Cemetery.
