Michael Udelius, 66, passed away Oct. 13, 2014, at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Ore. Mike was born Sept. 9, 1948, in Hood River, Ore., to Arne and Fern Udelius, and lived in Hood River all his life.
Mike was born in Hood River to Arne and Fern Udelius. He lived in Hood River all of his life. After college he took over the family farm.
Mike enjoyed mountain climbing, skiing and being active in the community. He was a longtime member of the Crag Rats and served on a number of different community boards over the years.
Mike is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Elaine Udelius, of Hood River; daughter, Wendy Achziger, and her husband, Randy, of Hood River; son, Herbie, and his wife, Tammy Good, of Auburn, Wash.; father, Arne Udelius, of Hood River; sister, Joan, and her husband, Paul Batton, of Olympia, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Fern.
A time for friends to gather with family is planned for 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Crag Rat Hut in Pine Grove.
Memorials are encouraged to be made in Mike’s name to either the Odell Lions Club or the Meals on Wheels program at the Hood River Valley Adult Center.
