James I. Miller, 80, of Hood River, Ore., passed away Sept. 2, 2014, at home. James was born Sept. 2, 1934, at Crawford, Colo., to James O. Miller and Dorothy M. (Nicholson) Miller.
He married Patricia Vivian (Hutchison) Miller at Pine Grove Church on July 14, 1955.
James was employed by Dee Forest Products as a millwright. In his spare time he enjoyed orchard work, especially working with apricots and nectarines.
James is survived by his wife, Patricia Vivian Miller, of Hood River; three daughters: Kay Sanchez, of Hood River, Peggy Trosper, of The Dalles, Ore., and Mary Loper, of North Bend, Ore.; two sons: Scott Miller, of Coos Bay, Ore., and Daniel Miller, of The Dalles. He is also survived by two brothers: John Miller of Omak, Wash., and Theon Lemon, of Logan, Utah; two sisters: Ila Gartman, of Longview, Wash., and Marylou Harger, of Kelso, Wash.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his father, James O. Miller; mother, Dorothy M. (Nicholson) Miller; and great-granddaughters Emmy Lea Johnson and Danielle Johnson.
