Larry Monroe Scroggins II, 58, passed away June 2, 2015, at his home in Hood River, Ore. Larry was born March 3, 1957, in La Jolla, Calif., to Larry Monroe and Darlene Jessie (Smith) Scroggins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1825 May St., Hood River.
Larry grew up in Portland, graduated from Wilson High School and attended Mount Hood Community College. He was a carpenter by trade, working throughout the Gorge until a work injury forced his early retirement in 2005. Larry enjoyed golf, bowling and watching sports.
Larry is survived and will be dearly missed by his son, Lauren Lewis; mother, Darlene Scroggins; brothers, Jesse Marion Scroggins and his wife, Tina Arlene, William Martin Scroggins and his wife, Kerry Elizabeth, and Lloyd Michael Scroggins and his wife, Carla Estefini; nieces Kelsie Ann and Taitum Jane; nephews Cade Jesse, William Tucker, Liam Michael and Miguel Martin; aunts and uncles; and a host of friends that he has collected over the years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Monroe Scroggins.
