Verna “Colleen” Nash, 81, of Scio, Ore., passed Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at her home with family at her side.
The daughter of Delbert and Eula (Stewart) Herman, she was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Nowata, Okla. She married William Lavern Nash on Aug. 27, 1955, in Hood River. They were happily married 42 years.
Colleen moved to Oregon’s Hood River area in the mid 1940’s where she worked for the telephone company out of high school. She and her husband moved to Albany in 1955, then to Scio in 1969. She had many interests including contributing her time at Oakview Church of God, enjoyed being surrounded by her family, loved being a grandma and took pride in being her husband’s wife. They loved to garden, as well as do crafts together.
She is survived by her sons: Paul and wife Catherine Nash, Jeff Nash and Ron Nash; daughter Sandy and husband Bill Lambert; sister Dovie; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; brothers Dan and Don Herman, and sister Judy.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at Bilyeu Den Cemetery in Scio. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
