Cleo Arlene Cooper, 96, passed away Nov. 17, 2014, at home in Mesa, Ariz. She was born Nov. 1, 1918, in Hood River, Ore., to Grace and Frank Smith.
Cleo worked for Diamond Fruit and traveled the South Pacific with her husband, Robert L. Cooper. She was fond of handcrafts, from hooked rugs to ceramics, in which she won two first-place prizes in her division at the Hood River County Fair.
Survivors include daughter Keryl A. Cooper, of Mesa, Ariz.; granddaughters Judith L. Hernandez, of Mesa, Ariz., Taylor Brooks, of Mesa, Ariz., and Donia Sickler, of Torrance, Calif.; daughter-in-law Nadine Cooper, of San Pedro, Calif.; sisters Frances Chambers and Bette Walters, both of Hood River; and brothers Frank Smith Jr. and Bob Smith, both of Hood River.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. March 31 at Idlewilde Cemetery, Hood River.
