Leda Prinzing, 76, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at her home in Hood River, Ore. Leda was born June 25, 1938, in Palouse, Wash., to Auguste and Mary (Arrasmith) Lavoie.
Leda had seven siblings. Her parents were fruit pickers and farmers. She was married for 51 years to Stanley Prinzing, who worked for Union Pacific Railroad. They lived in Hood River and then Wasco, Ore., for many years.
Leda graduated high school then worked as a dishwasher and waitress, and then as a seamstress for Jantzen Sportswear. Later she worked for Charter Cable Company, and as a catering director. Some of her hobbies included ceramics, painting, and playing Nintendo games. She was also a member of River of Life Assembly of God in Hood River. Leda had a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed.
Leda had four children: Debbie, of Hood River, Jeanette of The Dalles, Ore., Melissa who passed away in 2012, and a son who passed away in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley.
A memorial service with reception following will be held for Leda at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Anderson's Tribute Center. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1235 Tucker Road, Hood River.
