Janet Maxine Peterson, 84, passed away Nov. 15, 2015, at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Ore. She was born Oct. 17, 1931, in The Dalles, Ore., to Alfred and Gladys Kohlor.
Janet graduated from The Dalles High School in 1949. She married Byron May on Jan. 21, 1951, and they had four sons. They moved to Hood River In 1965. Their marriage ended in 1970.
Janet married Robert W. Peterson in 1972. She worked as a grocery checker, veterinary assistant and office clerk at the Hood River Elks Lodge. She enjoyed her garden, music, crafting, playing bridge, and trips to casinos.
Janet is survived by her sons: Michael, Guy and Patrick May, of Portland, Ore.; stepdaughters Susan Bevins of Carson, Wash., and Jodie Peterson, of Puyallup, Wash. She was also survived by her beloved Bill Cross.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Peterson, and a son, Kelly May.
At Janet’s request no services will be held, but a private family interment at Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River, Ore.
