January 9, 1930 - October 27, 2015

Robert (Bob) Rosenburg passed away in Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital on Oct. 27, 2015, from complications attributed to cancer. He was born on Jan. 9, 1930, in San Jose, Calif., to Sven and Dagmar (Groth) Rosenburg.
As a young boy Bob lived in Condon, Ore., with a foster family while his mother served overseas in the military. He joined the military in 1947, first serving in the Navy and then the Army until 1958. Returning to Condon, he worked for the county road department as a heavy equipment operator until moving to The Dalles in 1967. He worked in the aluminum industry at both The Dalles and Goldendale plants until he retired.
In 1992 Bob moved to Hood River and in between plant closures worked as an operator running equipment for various construction companies around the Gorge.
Bob loved to hunt, and fish. He was a lifetime gun-carrying member of the National Rifle Association, also a life member of the North American Hunting Club. Bowling was another of Bob’s passions. He bowled in leagues in The Dalles and Hood River, and was honored for bowling in 50 state tournaments.
Bob loved to dance to country western music, and loved to flirt with the ladies. He was a true gentleman.
Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret (Maggie), of Hood River; son James, of Portland; daughter MaryAnne, of Portland; son Ted (Vicki), of The Dalles; daughter Patricia, of Portland; stepson James Taylor, of The Dalles; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Theodore; son Frank; stepdaughter Jennie; and two grandsons, Kyle and Michael.
