Janalma “June” Cagle-Bruce would have celebrated her 85th Birthday on Aug. 6. Born in Oklahoma in 1931, she passed away this winter in Redmond, Ore., on Jan. 13, 2016.
June was one of nine children and is survived by her brothers, Tom Cagle of Hood River, Ore., and Glen Cagle of McCool, Miss., and a sister, Clara Robinson of Ackerman, Miss. She had the best stories and memories of growing up!
June was happily married to Charles Bruce, who was raised in Ackerman, Miss. After his service in the Air Force and some time living in Ackerman and Batesville, Miss., they moved to Hood River, where they raised their family, daughters Jane (son-in-law Dan), Linda and Mary Jo. June worked for many years packing fruit in the Hood River Valley.
After Charles passed away, June moved to Redmond to be closer to her grandkids, Charles, Lindsay and Adam. She loved her grandkids and they loved her! She was always a really big part of their lives.
June lived a full life. She was feisty and fun. She liked to learn and try new things. She loved to read. She was an amazing gardener and awesome cook! She liked to knit and paint and do stained glass. She taught, by example, her family about hard work, kindness and expecting the best of people and life. We miss her always positive attitude and common sense advice.
She was an amazing mom, mother-in-law, grandma and friend. We miss you and your biscuits, every day! Please join us in celebrating her birthday and her life. She was the best and she is forever in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
