She was born in Medford, Mass., on June 22, 1934, and spent her childhood and young adult years in the Boston Metropolitan area. Anna graduated from Boston Teachers College and also did postgraduate work at Harvard University.
Anna and Lawrence Ferguson were married June 28, 1959, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Adams, Mass. They moved to Oregon in 1960, where Anna continued her teaching and joined her husband in church and community ministries and raising their family.
Anna was active at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Hood River, Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Madras, Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Prineville and the Episcopal Diocese of Eastern Oregon with many rolls of support and inspiration. She also served as branch manager of Children Services in Madras and Prineville.
Everyone who had the honor of meeting Anna cherished her caring, positive, loving attitude and godliness. Her ability to be a role model for all people, professionally and personally, is greatly admired. Her amazing ability to reach out to people in need was wonderful and beautiful. She truly made a positive difference in everything and everyone she touched. Anna is so loved and will be missed so much, but she is right with God our Father Almighty.
Anna is survived by her husband, Larry, of more than 57 years; her children Elizabeth Ferguson, Lawrence Ferguson III (Fergie) and Kim, and Ruth Ferguson Walker and Patrick Walker; her sisters Irene, June and Mary; and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and other family members.
Those who belong to and support any number of organizations that Anna was involved with may like to consider making a contribution to them in Anna's memory.
