Harrison Peters of Hood River, Ore., passed away on Oct. 17, 2017, at his home surrounded by family. Harrison was born on June 8, 1923, and was 94 years of age at the time of his passing.
Harrison was born in Odell, Ore., the son of Thomas and Martha (Matzen) Peters. He graduated from the Odell high school in 1942. He joined the Army Air Corps and served from 1943 to 1946. Shortly after returning he purchased an orchard. In 1954, he married Charlotte Delia Regan and they had three boys, Mark, Antony and Derek.
Harrison spent his days maintaining the family orchard. Later in life, he became a federal inspector for the State of Oregon. He worked his orchard until retiring in 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Peters, sons Antony Peters and Derek Peters, nephew Larry Saxton, grandchildren Katie, Charlotte, Victoria, Mark, and Courtney, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Mark Peters, brother Forrest Peters, and nephew David Saxton.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at Pine Grove Butte Cemetery, 2687 Van Horn Drive, Hood River.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations), 1401 Belmont Ave., Hood River.
