Longtime Hood River Valley resident Loretta Laughlin passed away at her home in Hood River, Ore., on April 22, 2018. She was 78 years of age at the time of her passing.
Loretta was born on May 22, 1939, in Talala, Okla., to Claude Levarn and Rita May Laughlin. She was raised in Hood River and graduated from Wy’east High School in 1958.
She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers. Loretta also loved spending time with her family and reading her Bible.
Loretta is survived by her daughter Linda Phelps of Goldendale, Wash., sons David Brooks of Hood River and Allen Brooks of Adairsville, Ga., brothers Roland (Carole) Laughlin of Hood River and Ernest (Kay) Laughlin of Hood River, grandchildren Cody Herberholz of Beaverton, Ore., Dusty Herberholz of Goldendale, and Natasha Brooks of Goldendale. She was preceded in death by her son Sidney Brooks in 1994.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 at Tucker Road Baptist Church, 1455 Tucker Road, Hood River.
