Lorraine Kahl was born in Tacoma, Wash., on Aug. 5, 1935, and died peacefully at home in Hood River, Ore., on Aug. 6, 2018, at 83 years of age.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ellen Langele, and a brother, Arthur “Bud” Lengele. She is survived by her sister, Gloria Creech of Weaverville, Calif.; her son, Gerald Parkhurst of Randle, Wash.; her daughter, Debra Lincicum, of Hood River; and three grandchildren, Emily Parkhurst of Poulsbo, Wash., Alex Lincicum of Hood River and Ben Parkhurst of Tacoma.
Lorraine worked in Hood River at Tyack Jewelers (now Apland) and retired from Key Bank. She was an active Jehovah’s Witness since her baptism June 6, 1969. Lorraine delighted in sharing her Bible-based faith with anyone she could talk with. She was known for her generosity, laughter and concern for others.
There will be a memorial service for her Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall, 1619 Tucker Road in Hood River. In lieu of flowers, you are encouraged to make a donation to Heart of Hospice, 2621 Wasco St. Hood River, OR 97031.
