Grendy Aleste Aguilar Avina, daughter of Esthela Grajeda-Avina and Pedro Aguilar-Sandoval, passed away on Feb. 9, 2018, at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, Ore. Grendy was born on Oct. 18, 2007, and was 10 years of age at the time of her passing.
She was a fourth grade student at May Street Elementary School and loved dancing, singing, playing Legos, playing on her iPad, playing house, playing with her sister Rosmery, making tutorial videos and helping her mother in the kitchen. She also loved her dog, Chiquis.
Grendy is survived by her parents, Esthela Grajeda Avina and Pedro Aguilar Sandoval, sister Rosmery Aguilar Avina, and grandparents Eliodoro Aguilar Palacios, Julia Sandoval Palacios, JoseAngel Avina Gomez and Maribel Grajeda Palacios.
A Mass was held at 4 p.m. on Feb. 16 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1501 Belmont Ave., Hood River, followed by a viewing from 5-9 p.m. at Anderson’s Tribute Center. Grendy will be buried in Toliman, Jalisco, Mexico.
