Bonnie Corinne (Bray) Merz Thomas quietly passed away, in Hood River, Ore., on Jan. 20, 2018. She was 92 years old. Shortly afterwards, Bonnie was surrounded by many of her children.
Bonnie is survived by her sister Barbara Irene Sawyer, her sons David Lloyd Merz, Robert Lewis Merz, Daniel Ray Merz, and Anton Jay Merz, daughter Victoria Kay (Merz) Reed, and grandchildren Celeste M. (Merz) Owens, Melissa M. (Merz) Smith, Kenneth Jr. Merz, Denver B. Merz, Molly (Merz) Semingson, Brian R. Merz, Meghan E. Merz, Dina (Merz) McGee, Darci L. (Merz) Vick, Dara K. Merz, Nicholas R. Reed and Marcus J. Reed. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Kenneth Raymond Merz, and second husband, Kenneth Wallace Thomas, and by her son, Kenneth John Merz.
She is also survived by her Thomas family step-children, Judy McFetridge, Debbie Pederson, Martha Ray, Jan Eckenwiller, Mark Thomas, and Ellen Portlock, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren, and was preceded in death by Denny Thomas.
She was a good and loving person to all of her family, extended family and many, many friends, all of the days or her life.
A memorial service will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Hood River Valley Adult Center, 2010 Sterling Place, Hood River.
