Sharon Kay Korhonen-Muschaweck

January 20, 1959 - June 12, 2018

On May 12, 2018, our fun sister, daughter, mom, grandma and wife Sharon Kay Korhonen-Muschaweck passed over to Heaven at Mid-Columbia Medical Center after a courageous, warrior battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Her upbeat attitude and joy made the journey to her Savior easier, though we knew her pain. The special angels at Celilo Cancer Care and MCMC, One Community Health, Dr. Fu and all on the lifeflight and Good Samaritan Hospital. Rick Korhonen’s devotion was beautiful to our sister. Her friends Stacey Corman and Marugg of LaCenter, Wash. Nobody could have been such a great, loving support to my sister’s end of life 24/7 besides buddies Rick, Stacey and Tammy. Thank you for your great love. And your hubby Brit for cooking for all of us at the Parkdale Grange. Jean Hardman, you are the best in the west to do the after-service/reception for family and friends. It truly is the little things that matter the most in life when hearts are broken.

Sharon’s celebration of her life now means more to us on April 8, 2018, when family and friends came together to celebrate her life, loves and patrons through her years as Sharon’s Salon on the Heights in Hood River, Ore. She worked at Down Manor and Pat’s Beauty Bar for years, too.

Sharon was born in Yakima, Wash., on Jan. 20, 1959, the fourth child of Curt and LaVonne Holmstrom in Sunnyside, Wash. Sharon is preceded in death by first husband David Muschaweck, third son Jason Ryan Muscheweck and mother LaVonne V. Holmstrom.

She is survived by her father, Curt Holmstrom, sister Jan (Holmstrom) Nastasi-Harris, brother Randy (Anne) Holmsrom of Cascade Locks, brother Gerry Holmstrom, Fair Oakes, Calif., sons Benny Muschaweck (Jessica), and grandchildren Nicholas and Kylee, Lyle, Wash., and Lily (mom Hailey), Vancouver, Wash.

Anderson’s Tribute Center was entrusted with arrangements. Jack Trumball and Randy Holmstrom (sexton) gave special attention to our sister’s service. Thanks to everyone. If you wish to leave messages for any of the family members through Anderson’s Tribute Center, visit www.AndersonsTributeCenter.com to leave a note of condolence. Support pancreatic cancer research when you can. Sharon enjoyed sunsets at the beach with her friends Stacey and Tammy on a weeklong retreat they gave her in March 2018. What great friends you are. God bless you all. Sharon loved everybody.
