Sandra “Sandy” Darlene Hawke left her loves behind on June 9, 2018, when she passed away with her husband and daughter by her side at her home in Hood River after a long battle with cancer. Sandy was born on April 3, 1950, in Sonora, Calif., and met the love of her life, Bob, when they were both in kindergarten. They would eventually be married for 43 years, which still surprises Bob to this day.
Sandy dedicated her life to taking care of others, especially Bob and her babies, Amber Cheli (Donny), Sloane Hawke (Kyle), Noah and Piper Cheli, Karsyn Toschik, Erica, Avery and Will Kovac, and Kamron, Kayden and Klaire Edens. She also adored her brother, Ron Parish (Cheryl), their daughters, Melissa and Melinda, and their grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe and Timmy.
Sandy loved family and friends most of all, and was always looking for a new way to make things special and memorable for those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Hawke, and her parents, Clyde and Lucille Parish.
Sandy’s spirit will continue to surround her loved ones and anyone wishing to celebrate her with the family is invited to an open house on June 30 at 2 p.m. at 3102 Adrienne Lane in Hood River.
