Ada May Arens, “Ady” to her many friends, died on May 16, 2018, at Hood River Hospital in Hood River, Ore. She was in the company of her three children and their spouses. She was 95 years young.
As she outlived members of her generation, she became a “second mother” to many adults who appreciated her zest for life. She nourished newer and “younger” friends who were energized by her spirit and humor.
Ady is survived by Candace Kelly; Jill Jernstedt (Ken); John R. Arens (June Olson); seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
At Ady’s request, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. With her blessing, however, family and friends will gather “for a party” by invitation, later in the summer to celebrate her long and remarkable life. Commemorative donations may be sent to Hood River Children’s Park GoFundMe page (www.gofundme.com/childrenspark) or the donor’s preferred charity.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson’s Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations), 1401 Belmont Ave., Hood River. Visit www.AndersonsTributeCenter.com to leave a note of condolence for the family.
