“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” — Psalms 116:15
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalms 46:1
On Nov. 3, 2018, Tori Lynn Williams passed away at the age of 56. She was born to Ronald and Joan Johnson on May 15, 1962, in Hood River, Ore. She grew up in the Hood River Valley and graduated from Hood River High School in 1980.
She married Mark Swyers in 1981, having Anita Marie in 1981 and Micheal Alan in 1983. They divorced in 1986.
She married Bruce Allen Williams in 1989, having Christopher Ray in 1990 and Joshua James in 1991.
She was a child of God and a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church in Portland, Ore., at her passing. She loved outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, hunting and the Oregon coast, but more than anything else on this earth, she loved her husband, four children, four grandchildren and all her family, both physically and spiritually. She was a wonderful and dedicated wife and she was not only a fabulous mother and grandmother to her own, but many of her kids’ friends. She was loving, tender and fragile while at the same time being a tough warrior and fiery redhead in every sense of the word.
She will be missed tremendously by all that loved her and those that know Jesus can rejoice in the fact we will see her again.
She is survived by her parents, Joan and David Smith; husband, Bruce Williams; sisters, Tammy Whitecotton and Terri Stratton; children, Anita Jensen, Micheal Swyers, Christopher Williams, and Joshua Williams; grandchildren, Keri and Kati Jensen and Jordyn and Jaelyn Swyers; and more family and friends then can be listed. We here on earth have lost a jewel and heaven has gained a beautiful soul.
A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Belmont Drive Missionary Baptist Church, 4200 Belmont Drive, Hood River. Refreshments and light appetizers will be served. Feel free to bring a dish if you choose.
