CYCLIST?INJURED.Christian Sinai, of Portland, is examined by Hood River Fire & EMS personnel late Friday morning after sustaining a broken collarbone during a bike ride up on the Heights. His wife, Danielle Sinai, was riding alongside him near the intersection of C and 22nd streets when she said Christian removed his hands from his road bike at the precise moment he struck a bump in the pavement, which sent him careening over his handlebars. Luckily, Danielle works as an orthopedic physician’s assistant at Advantage Orthopedics in Gresham and was able to determine her husband had broken his collarbone. The couple were celebrating Christian’s 40th birthday out in Hood River, but Danielle said she would be taking him back to her office in Gresham for chest x-rays, with steaks and beers to follow. Danielle thanked Hood River Fire & EMS as well as local residents for their quick response. “Everybody just came running out of their houses to help us out,” she said.
