Community BBQ

The Odell barbecue, held Saturday, Oct. 1 at Mid Valley Elementary, was for all residents to share a meal and visit. Organizer Nan Noteboom wanted to spread some love in a politically charged time for valley residents. “It’s been slow but steady,” she said Saturday afternoon, adding that 50 hamburgers had been served. “I love that the Wy’east Fire Department came out and got involved, that we got people registered (to vote) and had a question for Immigration Counseling Service.” Notebook credited Regena Rafelson, saying, “She did all the legwork. She was invaluable.”
