Before the Horizon girls basketball team traveled to South Wasco County on Jan. 30, they were on a three-game league winning streak and had moved to third place in the 1A-6 Big Sky League standings.

The streak continues for Horizon

The Horizon Boys basketball team seems to have found their groove as they’ve now won four straight games and currently sit at second place in the 1A-6 Big Sky League standings with an 8-2 record.

The HRV girls basketball team headed into league play with an 8-6 record, but after dropping their first two games of league, they’re now 8-8 and .500 on the season for the first time since they were 2-2 in early December.

HRV wrestling beats Bend then follows with top-finishes at Elks

HRV wrestling had their biggest weekend of the season this past weekend, with a thrilling home dual matchup against Bend on Jan. 19. The following day, Jan. 20, the team hosted its annual Elks Tournament. Against Bend, both the boys and girls were victorious against the Lava Bears.

Horizon girls move to 4-3 in league play

After dropping their first home league game of the season last Tuesday night against South Wasco County, the girls finished the week with a close 44-40 road loss to Sherman, following the loss up Saturday evening with a win at home versus Condon/Wheeler by a final score of 62-50.

HRV boys drop CRC home opener

After snapping a seven-game losing streak that dated back to Dec. 14, the HRV boys basketball team were unable to keep things rolling as they dropped their last non-league game earlier this week by a final score of 55-64 on the road at Liberty.

Seven-game losing streak comes to an end at home

Two-days before the HRV boys basketball team would’ve been without a win for a whole month, they finally are able to put an end to the seven game losing streak as they won at home on Friday, Jan. 12 by a final score of 66-44 versus Corbett.

A 1-2 record at the Vince Dulcich Memorial Tournament in Astoria last weekend moved the HRV girls basketball team to 7-5 on the season before opening 2018 on the road versus St. Helens on Jan. 3.
