When I began as the sports editor of the Hood River News in 2006, one of my first goals was to publish a weekly column. Over the next six years I wrote somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 of those columns before winding it down earlier this summer.
At the time I announced I was heading off for a bit to take advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity. The first of those was getting married to Mrs. Babbles (likely the first and last time my wife will consent to go by that name!).
A second opportunity was helping launch this web site.
Ben's Babbles will continue here in a different form. Instead of coming up with one idea to fit into a weekly column (sometimes that was a challenge and other times it was a stretch), I'll post a few things here every week. Some may be long, others short. Some may have to do about sports, but plenty will not.
