Williams, Valle at The Pines

Start the weekend right with the amazing musical stylings of local musician Kerry Williams on Friday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Playing mandolin, ukulele and guitar, Kerry soothes away the stress from the week. On Saturday, from 6:30-9:30, local musician Joel Valle brings his smooth vocals and delicious guitar strums to The Pines Tasting Room.

Old Light at CEBU Lounge

On Friday, July 29, it’s the piano-based jazz of the Halie Loren Trio at CEBU Lounge from 8-11 p.m. Think Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday or, more recently, Diana Krall and Norah Jones. On Saturday, July 30, check out indie-roots band Old Light. Recently named one of the Top 10 Best New Bands in Portland 2011 by Willamette Week, Old Light comes to Cebu Lounge in support of their new album, “Dirty Future.” With their innovative (when was the last time you heard a rock band with a harpsichord player?) psychedelic roots-rock this is a show not to be missed.

Bingen’s Last Friday at Solstice

Join the fun this Friday, July 29, at Solstice Cafe from 6-8 p.m. for live music, wine and art. Rachel Marie & Friends will be playing bluegrass on the patio, Cathedral Ridge will be pouring wine, and Peggy Ohlson’s art will be up on the walls. Solstice Wood Fire Cafe, 415 W. Steuben, Bingen, Wash.; 509-493-4006.

Barlow Road at Thirsty Woman

The Gorge’s own Barlow Road — the best in Americana/roots rock — plays the Thirsty Woman Pub in Mosier on Saturday, July 30, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Thirsty Woman Pub (large), 904 Second Ave., Mosier; 541-478-0199.

‘Dixie’ at Naked Winery

Friday is a double bill at Naked Winery in Hood River with Kit Garoutte (4-7 p.m.) on guitar and Hood River’s Bigfoot Band (7:30-10:30 p.m.) The Bigfoot band plays dance music pure and simple. Tunes range from New Orleans funk to low-down dirty blues and classic soul and originals that bring the best of the classics.

On Saturday, Jackbone Dixie starts at 7 p.m. One of Washington's most promising new bands, their sound defines the heartaches of life and outlines hopes for a better tomorrow.

On Sunday, don’t miss Swing Crew featuring Linda McAllister, John Durkan, Mike Stillman, and Paul Viemeister and Dennis Harvey. Music starts at 4 p.m.

Monday is open mic (7-10 p.m.) and on Tuesdays Ryan and Mike lead the jazz show starting at 6:30 p.m.

DJ B.ill at The Vault

It’s a party on the patio weekend at The Vault in The Dalles Friday and Saturday night with DJ B.ill spinning his progressive style of house and hip hop mixes starting at 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday it’s DJ B.ill’s fresh style of Kramdown Karaoke. The Vault, 209 E. Second St., The Dalles; 541-296-3070.
