Chief Deputy Director
Hood River County has an opening for a Chief Deputy Director, Records and Assessment. This position is involved with all aspects of compiling and calculating of the assessment roll and the administration of related programs. This role oversees the administration of voter registration and all elections activities within Hood River County. The Chief Deputy Supervises and performs document recordings, issues marriage licenses, passports, and maintains county archives. The role coordinates the Board of Property Tax Appeals program and supervises assigned records and assessment staff. Additionally, this role will direct office operation in absence of the Director.
Qualifications: Associate degree in business, office administration or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in Assessments or Elections preferred. This role will require considerable understanding of legal terminology, laws and interpretation of statutes, rules, procedures and regulations. You will need to be able to analyze information and solve complex problems, as well as have the ability to organize projects and meet deadlines. This is a busy office which requires the ability to change tasks and handle constant interruptions with ease. You will interface with internal personnel as well as the public.
SALARY: $4,355 - $5,831/month with excellent benefit package including Public Employee Retirement.
