Operation Christmas Child project underway
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Its mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
These simple gifts are shipped outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine and disease, and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.
To provide a gift to one of these children this Christmas, visit samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/pack-a-shoe-box for instructions on how to fill a shoebox.
National Collection week for all shoeboxes is Nov. 18-25. Bring filled shoeboxes to Covenant Hood River Church, 455 Frankton Road, during the following times:
  • Monday through Thursday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Friday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 4-6 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Contact local drop-off coordinator Angie Olmstead at 541-490-7914 for more information.
