Volunteers from Hood River Alliance Church in Hood River paint rooms at Oregon Department of Human Services used by foster children to meet with biological parents. The work was done Friday and Saturday at the offices on the Heights. The church also donated new furniture and held a Christmas toy drive to replace toys for use in the rooms, which are often where local children observe birthdays and celebrate holidays in a protected, observed space. The rooms had not been updated in about five years, and the toys were worn. DHS also replaced the carpet in both rooms.
