Evening of Latino Theatre, music, dance — sold out

Columbia Center for the Arts presents Un Día de Teatro on Aug. 27 — but if you were planning to get tickets to this all ages show featuring Latin theater, dance and music, you’re out of luck: It’s been sold out.

Navy Band Country Current in concert at Maryhill Aug. 28

Maryhill Winery is proud to welcome The United States Navy Band Country Current, the Navy's premier country-bluegrass ensemble, to the winery's amphitheater. University of Idaho and Washington State University's ceremonial Naval ROTC Color Guard will honor the Colors at the beginning of the show.

The concert is Sunday, Aug. 28, gates open 5 p.m., show at 6 p.m. The performance is open to all ages and free, however tickets are required for this performance, and can be acquired at no charge at www.maryhillwinery.com /navy.

Annual Unity Picnic at HR Library celebrates diversity

Bring a blanket and come celebrate our cultural diversity and a summer of great reading at the Hood River Library's annual Unity Picnic on Friday, Sept. 2, starting at 5:30 p.m. Free taco bar, Mike's ice cream and beverages provided, and games and activities are generously hosted by the Gorge Ecology Institute and other community contributors. Music provided by the River City Jazz Band. Drawings for the winners of the Adult and Teen Summer Reading programs will be held during the festivities. No alcohol please.

‘Alonzo’ plays this weekend

Alonzo Garbanzo, playing anything and everything on 6 and 12-string guitars, makes an appearance this weekend in the Gorge: Saturday, Aug. 27, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Kickstand Coffee, and Sunday, Aug. 28, 4-6 p.m. at Mosier Market.
